More than two decades ago, Lucas Thorne gained his first carpentry experience working for custom home builders in central Illinois. A few years later, while on a camping trip traveling through Minnesota and Wisconsin he visited the Hayward lakes area. He fell in love with the northwoods and very quickly knew he wanted more than a Hayward vacation, that this would be his new home. Lucas signed on with a local contractor and he began putting down roots in the community. In 2003, Lucas Thorne Construction began with a unique, total renovation of a Nelson Lake home owned by a Minnesota designer.

In the years since, as he has built his business where so many people love to vacation and build their northwoods retreats. His clients and associates in the trades are his friends and neighbors, and he values the relationships he builds with them. The best part of his business is getting to know his clients and using his skills, knowledge, and experience to help each client turn their northwoods dream into a reality.
